A Bit About The Iron Fish, Mermaid, And Crab Sculptures

The Shape
Why two dimensional iron fish sculptures? Three reasons; first, you only
view one side! Second, they are lighter in weight therefore causing minimum stress on the walls where they will be displayed. Finally, they take up less space while offering a unique alternative in shape, texture, and depth to the typical square framed painting. I can make you a 3D fish sculpture but it will cost you about twice as much.

The Color
The formula for giving color to my fish sculptures took several years to perfect. The antiqued hues are inspired by objects that have been worn and weathered by time and their environment. Sea buoys are special examples of this. You've seen them washed up on the beach, floating in rivers, and
even strung up around peoples homes. Their faded colors represent something only nature's touch could create.

I want the look of each fish sculpture to be imperfect, like something started by hand, but finished by nature over
time. This is why I rust the piece before I paint it. Once the paint and rust have been applied and randomly mixed to each sculpture, there will be a finish that mimics an old faded buoy or boat, an antique fishing pole, or some other well-loved, well-used item.
